Anything you do in life requires balance and strength, the more the better. Sure, when you out there catching waves, finding slopes, running miles or crushing your opponents and chasing the next personal best, you don’t think about it. Once you’re out there nothing else matters but the flow. You get in the zone and you go for it, your body working as fine-tuned machine. But under the hood, billions of neurons, thousands of nerve impulses, a myriad of muscles, joints and bones working in perfect synergy makes all of it possible. That’s where Balance Board comes in.
Most sports involve strong legs and that strength is best built from the bottoms up. Because the feet and ankles are so vital to our ability to run, it's important to take the time to strengthen and stretch them.
Proprioception - your body’s sense of the position and motion of your joints - is one of the most significant factors in injury prevention. This is especially vital for joints like the knee, which is often injured by loss of balance.
Stability training refers to performing exercises while on an unstable surface with the goal of activating stabilizers and trunk muscles that may get neglected with other forms of training.
